Collection consists primarily of correspondence, scrapbooks, pamphlets and booklets by Raymond Floyd Howes. Correspondents include members of the E.B. Titchener family, Bower Aly, Richard Armour, Mary Boynton, Rand Evans, Wilbur S. Howell, Laura L. Howes (Howe's granddaughter), Everett Lee Hunt, and Colston E. Warne. Also, photograph and programs. Also includes a diary (1895) of Howes' mother, Eleanor (Nora) Mary Titchener, sister of E. B. Titchener, concerning trans-Atlantic travel, and social life in Cascadilla Hall, a faculty residence at Cornell University.

After teaching at the University of Pittsburgh (1924-1926) and at Washington University, St. Louis (1926-1936), Howes became Executive Secretary of the Cornellian Council of Cornell University. Howes was later appointed assistant to Engineering Dean Solomon C. Hollister and assistant to the provost, dealing primarily with fundraising.
